ORAC scale
The acronym ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) refers to the value of oxygen radical absorption capacity (how many free radicals an antioxidant absorbs). Foods with higher ORAC values contain higher amounts of antioxidants, meaning they more effectively neutralize free radicals that destroy cells and can consequently trigger disease processes. The mangosteen fruit ranks at the very top of the ORAC scale and, due to its high antioxidant content, significantly contributes to preventing harmful processes in the body.
