ORAC scale
ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) indicates the value of oxygen radical absorption capacity (how many free radicals an antioxidant absorbs). Foods with higher ORAC values contain higher amounts of antioxidants, thus more effectively neutralizing free radicals that destroy cells and can consequently trigger disease processes. The mangosteen fruit ranks at the very top of the ORAC scale and, due to its high antioxidant content, significantly influences the prevention of harmful processes in the body.
