ORAC
The acronym ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) refers to the value of the capacity to absorb oxygen radicals (how many free radicals an antioxidant can absorb). Foods with higher ORAC values contain higher amounts of antioxidants, thus more effectively neutralizing free radicals that destroy cells and can consequently trigger disease processes. The mangosteen fruit ranks at the very top of the ORAC scale, and due to its high antioxidant content, significantly impacts the prevention of harmful processes in the body.
